Embracing the Journey: Rite of Election at Saint Mary’s
This past Sunday at the 10 AM Mass, our Saint Mary, Mother of God family came together to celebrate the Rite of Election. With joy and anticipation, 22 Elect and Candidates, accompanied by their devoted sponsors, took an important step on their journey toward receiving the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
Through the delegation of Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. to our pastor, Father Jeff Kegley, we witnessed the Holy Spirit moving powerfully among us. Hearts were lifted in prayer, faith was strengthened, and the light of Christ shone brightly across our parish community.
The Rite of Election is more than a ceremony; it is a visible sign of God’s grace at work in the lives of those preparing to enter the Catholic Church. At Saint Mary, Mother of God, we are truly blessed to witness such faith alive and vibrant in our midst, here in Middletown, New Jersey.
As we journey together toward Easter, let us pray for our Elect and Candidates, that their hearts may continue to open to God’s love, and that our parish may remain a place where the Spirit of God is alive and active in every heart.
